Overview

Working with the Project Managers and Sales teams to design, plan and implement lighting solutions across all PRG projects. Working with Lighting Operations to assign staff and freelancers whilst ensuring a consistently high standard of delivery across the diverse range of projects we deliver. All aspects of work to be carried out to the highest possible standard of safety while meeting PRG standards and client expectations. 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ year’s experience  
  • Experience in managing and motivating a team to achieve results. 
  • An excellent understanding and passion for the industry. 
  • Good understandings of electrical theory / power distribution. 
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills. 
  • Able to manage resources during very busy periods, implementing contingencies to meet the changing business needs. 
  • Capable of working to strict deadlines. 
  • Able to communicate confidently and clearly; written and spoken. 
  • A good understanding of stock control systems. 
  • Extensive computer skills including all Microsoft Office applications, experience using Vectorworks. 
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Company’s product range and procedures. 
  • A good understanding of electrical safety at work and safe working practices. 
  • An understanding of basic rigging principles and weight load calculations is required. 
  • Able to give clear guidance on what needs to be achieved. 
  • Takes a proactive stance, initiating action before being asked. 
  • Positive attitude to extra duties and new challenges. 
  • Ability to understand and comply with the Company’s Health and Safety Rules 
  • Prepared to work additional hours when necessary. 
  • Actively demonstrate and promote safe working methods / safe lifting practices. 
  • Reliable and with good time keeping record. 
  • Maturity to deal with people at all levels of the organisation. 
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Full Driving license is essential 

Responsibilities

  • Be responsive and accommodating to internal and external issues or enquiries. 
  • Ensure that an accurate brief is developed through dialogue with the Project Managers, Sales teams and our clients. 
  • Provide a clear plan to all lighting team members inclusive of Fixture Patch, Positions, Networking plan etc.
  • Advance a prompt interpretation / creation of the design requirement to ensure that the company can support the event – adapting specifications as required and as appropriate. 
  • Assess order requirements on the Company equipment rental software, ensuring we maximise utilisation and broader management of stock against the incoming briefs. 
  • Communicate with department staff and Lighting Operations to ensure that they understand all elements of a project and the associated production schedule.   
  • Liaise with the Project Managers and Client to ensure that the original artistic integrity of the artist design is maintained. 
  • Operate within the current Health and Safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment, reporting any Health and Safety issues to the Managing Director 
  • Work with operations to develop processes to make the delivery run smoothly and increase efficiency and profitability of the business unit.  
  • Supporting Assets to identify new equipment required for the department, assessing its suitability to fit in with the departments current stock and demands of the market. 
  • Control costs in relation to staff resources, consumables, equipment and repair and maintenance. 
  • Work closely with other departments to discuss and resolve collective issues. 
  • Maintain effective communication with team members and the Managing Director to ensure any issues or concerns are dealt with quickly.  
  • Provide, procure or develop any training programs to ensure we operate at the highest standards. 
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to develop and optimise individual and team capability. 
  • Act as a role model for team members. 
  • Attend project management and production meetings to understand the future needs of the business. 
  • Assist and be involved in regular performance reviews and provide feedback, identifying and implementing development plans for staff members. 
  • Keep up to date with the latest technology and techniques within the industry. 
  • Ensure all incidents and injuries are reported immediately 
  • Fulfill any other reasonable task required by the company. 
  • Ensure at all times confidentiality of information relating to the company or its clients, projects, or personal staff information.  
  • Operating within current health and safety regulations to ensure a safe environment. 
  • Ensure the Company’s quality standards throughout the department are maintained at all times. 
  • Ensure that the Company’s policies, rules, procedures and obligations are observed in carrying out the above duties.
