Overview

Working as part of the Audio Department, the Senior Audio Engineer will assist the Audio Operations Manager in the delivery of quality Audio solutions in the Special Events, Touring Music and Corporate markets we operate in.  Developing and delivering solution in exciting and challenging environments and against tight deadlines, our Audio team is driven to ensure quality is a priority and that excellence is achieved in all aspects of delivery.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ year’s previous experience in a similar role with a good understanding of the industry. 
  • Experience working and operating on large scale events in the Special Events, touring music and corporate environments.
  • Computer skills including all Microsoft Office applications, CAD and/or Vectorworks is desirable.
  • Experience with Networking, Dante, AVB and fiber protocols and topology.
  • Experience in FOH, Monitor, Systems, RF and Stage roles is essential.
  • Knowledge of L’ Acoustics speaker systems, design and software, Digico, Midas, Avid consoles, Shure and Sennheiser products is desirable.  
  • A basic knowledge of recording systems and connectivity is desirable.
  • A good understanding of:

    • Electrical safety at work
    • PAT testing
    • Safe working practices
     
  • Must display a positive attitude at all times, both in the warehouse and on-site.
  • Must be client facing with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to cope well under pressure and work to deadlines.
  • Methodical and analytical approach to work with good fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to learn and retain information within a reasonable time frame.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the team, assisting in the design, preparation, installation, and testing of all audio equipment.
  • Operate to a detailed brief and have input on the specification and delivery approach.
  • Ensure all equipment the Senior Audio Engineer has responsibility for is correctly installed tested and fully operational prior to commencement of any rehearsal, sound check or show. 
  • Ensure that the Company’s quality standards are maintained at all times. 
  • Faulty / Damaged equipment to be clearly marked and the Service Manager notified of this at the earliest opportunity.
  • Ensure correct equipment entry into the equipment rental software, including bar codes.
  • Any anomalies, omissions or shortages should be brought to the attention of the Audio Operations Manager at the earliest opportunity.
  • Ensure that all equipment and flight case tour labels are marked up correctly for specific jobs.
  • Support the Audio Team with routine maintenance to ensure the equipment is kept in a good, safe and efficient working condition. 
  • Ensure the department is kept tidy and orderly at all times. 
  • Keep up to date with the latest equipment and technology within the department.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Audio Operations and Planning Managers to ensure any issues or concerns are dealt with quickly and efficiently. 
  • Ensure all Incidents and Injuries are reported immediately. 
  • Fulfill any other reasonable task required by the company.
  • Operate within the current Health and Safety regulations in the country of work, and ensure a safe working environment. 
  • Advise your manager if you believe you are unable to meet your obligations for OH&S due to time or resource restrictions. 
  • Ensure the Company’s policies, rules, procedures and obligations are observed in carrying out all the above duties.
