Position Overview 

PRG (Production Resource Group) Australia is looking for casual Lighting Technicians - Production / Touring  to join our team during the peak touring season. 

Casual employment is employment on a ad hoc basis (as needed). Employees may work in a range of venues throughout Australia with system prep and  deprep carried out at the PRG Warehouse in Dandenong South, Melbourne, Victoria.  

The main fuction of the role is to deliver production lighting services. You will have existing production or touring experience and demonstrate high level skills and competencies. You will be able to take on assigned roles within a crew and work to a high standard with minimal direct supervision.

Hours of work will be based on the requirments of production schedules. Work may be scheduled to fall on any day of the week and can frequently require additional hours to be worked.

Production / Touring work will include periods of travel away from your home city.

Qualifications & Licences  

Victorian Drivers Licence:  Employees are required to have a car driver's licence. 

 

Highly Valued Qualifications & Competencies  

  • Existing experience in lighting production work 
  • Desk operation / moving lights competency 
  • Electrical Test & Tag competency 
  • Manual Handling competency 
  • High-risk work licence (EWP, Boom, Forklift) 
  • Dogging & Rigging 
  • Construction Industry Induction Card (White card) 

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities  

  • Work as part of a crew that delivers lighting systems that meet customer deadlines and performance specifications. 
  • Unload and load trucks as required, bump in & bump out 
  • Assemble, configure, and support / maintain lighting systems
  • Operate / fault find lighting equipment & systems 
  • Apply safe manual handling, electrical safety and working at heights practices 
  • Demonstrate strong focus on own safety and safety of others in the workplace 
  • Meet venue requirements and local laws for health and safety
