Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of operations experience; prior industry experience required.
  •  Sales management experience.
  • Equivalent experience as General Manager or Local Director
  • BA degree in marketing or business preferred; equivalent experience highly regarded.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and execute other job functions with high attention to detail.
  • Must have strong organisational skills and be able to prioritise work to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to multi-task in fast-paced environment, under pressure, and time constraints.

Responsibilities

The Managing Director is a senior leadership position in Production Resource Group (Australia) Pty Ltd. The role is
responsible for managing both company operations and company sales including, warehouse, QC activities, and
asset utilisation, ensuring growth and profitability.


As such the role includes allocating budget resources, formulating policies, coordinating business operations,
monitoring, and motivating staff, managing operational costs, ensuring good customer service, improving
administration processes, engaging with vendors, hiring, and training employees, identifying business
opportunities, and monitoring financial activities.

 

Core Experience Reguired
 
Must have proven history in professional live entertainment event production.  Candidates with a current background in event production service, live entertainment technical supervision, or past experience in event-related equipment rental operations strongly preferred.


Essential Functions

  • Develop & implement market strategies focused on growth and forward initiative.
  • Develop, oversee & insure financial forecasts, financial objectives, and business plans for all departments.
  • Network aggressively to improve the presence and reputation of the company.
  • Manage budget and allocate funds appropriately.
  • Bring out the best in company personnel through ongoing training, coaching, development, & motivation.
  • Locate areas of improvement and propose corrective action to meet challenges and leverage growth portunities.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Management and supervision of all company staff, casuals, and freelance personnel for the company.

Tactical Responsibilities:

  • Implement operational policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Lead change efforts to strengthen overall operations of branch.
  • Monitor competitive activity and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Ensure that all tasks assigned are completed on schedule and on budget.
  • Consistently meet deadlines established by regional leadership or above.

Financial Management:

  • Provide leadership and guidance in revenue growth, cost management and other financial areas.
  • Conduct periodic financial reviews of branch and work with management team to ensure proper business
  • planning procedures are followed.
  • Work closely with Finance teams to prepare internal reports, including budget vs. actual analysis, cost vs return analysis and other reports so staff can meet company goals.
  • Lead the process for both annual and special project budgets.
  • Establish, optimise, and monitor compliance with purchasing policies and procedures.

Organisational Leadership:

  • Develop, maintain, and administer a sound organisational plan & initiate improvements as necessary.
  • With Regional leadership, hire, promote, train, develop and motivate strong staff members.
  • Communicate and implement organisational objectives, success criteria, and strategic initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of outstanding customer service and response.
  • Convene and preside over meetings with functional managers; conduct regular staff meetings.
  • Adhere to highest ethical standards and comply with all regulations & applicable laws.

People Development:

  • With Regional leadership, manage human resource-related issues including recruitment, performance
    management, salary administration, progressive discipline, training, and development.
  • Create and maintain a positive environment, address employee concerns, facilitate team development, and implement training and development initiatives.
  • Share knowledge with other PRG locations and leadership on effective practices, competitive intelligence,
    business opportunities and needs.
  • Address and resolve client and employee satisfaction issues promptly.

    Account Management:

  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients.
  • Develop and execute on strategic plan to achieve the company’s sales targets and expand our customer
    base.
  • Stay abreast of competing markets and provide reports on market movement and penetration.
  • Recommend pricing structure relevant to market and location.
  • Work with the Regional leadership and sales teams to coordinate renewal of existing contracts and share
    opportunities to acquire and develop new contracts.
  • Provide clients with best practice advice to achieve stakeholder goals.
  • Advise internal project teams on project management and efficiency opportunities.

Asset Management

  • Create and implement strategies to maximise asset utilisation to location.
  • Prepare capital expenditure (capex) requests utilising the appropriate model.

Other Responsibilities

  • Attend internal & external meetings locally and internationally as required.
  • Report directly to Regional CEO on all issues and needs within company. Additional ad hoc reporting lines
    may involve the Australian Board of Directors and PRG, LLC management as required.
  • Perform other duties in keeping with the role as assigned by regional leadership and other reporting lines.
