Overview

Reporting to the UK Transport Team Leader, your primary focus will be to fulfill group transport requirements and logistical fulfillment for the Company.

Qualifications

  • Good computer skills, with a good working knowledge of transport booking and tracking systems
  • Previous experience within an administrative role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative.
  • Ability to prioritise and cope with a demanding workload.
  • High degree of numeracy and literacy, with a disciplined approach to attention to detail.
  • Previous experience of handling transport movements would be an advantage.
  • Financial awareness.
  • Prepared to work additional hours when necessary.
  • Ability to understand and comply with the Company’s Health and Safety Rules.
  • Reliable with a good timekeeping record.

Responsibilities

Summary of Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal customers, ensuring a prompt response.
  • Ensure equipment is moved in the most cost effective and efficient manner.
  • Deal with telephone and email enquires efficiently and in a professional manner.
  • Process, book and schedule UK transport as required.
  • Ensure all legal requirements are undertaken and recorded.
  • Work with the UK Transport Team Leader in securing reliable bespoke and overnight couriers for the business.
  • Liaise with operations, asset and sales team to co-ordinate and assist with the transport requirements for projects.
  • Communicate daily duties to drivers.
  • Monitor and support the drivers when they are not able to fulfil transport movements, for example, contacts are not reachable, deliveries / collections are not as planned, traffic delays or breakdowns.
  • Provide general administration support to the UK Transport team leader, including maintaining transports records, effective filing systems and other transport documentation to provide an audit trail.
  • Prompt raising and receiving of PO’s for bookings.
  • Be the point of contact for all transport issues in the absence of the UK Transport Team Leader.
  • Represent the Group in a positive and professional manner.
  • Be available to resolve transport issue outside normal working hours in the absence of the UK Transport Team Leader.
  • Report any Health & Safety issues.
  • Ensure that the Company’s policies, rules, procedures, and obligations are observed in carrying out the above duties.
