Overview

Main purpose of the job: Working as part of the Rigging Team, the primary role of the Rigging Technician is to assist the Rigging Manager in the preparation of rigging equipment and metalwork through the department, to the Company’s standards and within the deadlines set by supervision.

Essential:

  • Prior experience working in a warehouse or rigging company
  • Competency in using workshop tools and equipment
  • Ability to learn and retain information
  • Attention to detail and ability to work to a deadline
  • Good communication skills and a team-player
  • Self-motivated and capable of working on your own
  • Familiarity with stock control systems and basic IT
  • Understanding of electrical safety at work, PAT testing, and safe working practices
  • Ability to maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free working environment
  • Reliable with strong time management skills

 

Desirable:

  • Previous experience preparing and testing rigging and control equipment
  • Basic understanding of electric chain hoists mains and manual rigging equipment
  • Knowledge of the LEAN process
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and new tasks
  • Flexibility to work extra hours when necessary

Responsibilities

Summary of principal duties and responsibilities include:

 

Equipment Handling & Preparation:

  • Prepare, clean, verify, test, and return rigging equipment and
  • Assist in specific show preparations and equipment orders.
  • Identify and report common faults in the preparation process to the Rigging Manager
  • Maintain an acceptable working pace within the department.

Stock & Inventory Management:

  • Check in equipment as directed by the Rigging Manager, ensuring accurate stock reconciliation.
  • Update stock orders and report shortages of equipment or consumables for upcoming
  • Participate in scheduled stock cycle counts in coordination with operational

Maintenance & Inspections:

  • Support routine maintenance and repair of rigging equipment
  • Conduct maintenance spraying of truss, pipe, and fabricated equipment as required.
  • Assist with regular truss inspections and maintain accurate records.
  • Maintain service inspection records for control systems when needed. Ensure compliance with company quality standards and best

Health, Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to LEAN processes at all times
  • Keep the department tidy and organized to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Report any health and safety concerns to the Operations Manager.
  • Follow safe lifting practices and comply with the Company’s Health & Safety policy

Training & Development:

  • Stay up to date with industry advancements and new technologies.
  • Undertake relevant training to enhance skills and personal
